MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL
Think of a person whom you want to talk to (can be friend,
teacher, guidance counselor, brother, sister or cousin, parent or guardian).
Write his/her name separately on a 1/4 size paper using a permanent marker or a
pen. Face the mirror, post the name of your chosen person on the mirror.
Imagine that that person is facing you. Talk to yourself in the mirror and to
the person you chose guided by the following instructions.

Instructions: Imagine that you are looking
at the mirror, and from the mirror you see yourself. Please talk to yourself
and say that “I am proud of you because you are confident of yourself
now.”
Then, your friends pop up in the mirror (post the name of your
friends in the mirror), please tell your friends that “You should be
happy with me because I’m your friend who will always be with you no
matter what.”
Then, your teachers pop up in the mirror (post the name of your
teachers in the mirror), please tell them that “You should be happy with me
because I’m giving all I’ve got to be the best at school.”
Then,
your brothers/sisters pop up in
the mirror (post the name of your
brothers/sisters/cousins), please tell them that “You
should be happy with me because I’m
trying to be the best brother you want.”
Then, your parents pop up in the mirror (post the name of your
parents/guardian or whom you consider as your parent in the mirror), please
tell them that “You should be proud of me because I’m doing my best at
school and at home.”

1. How did you find the activity?
- I found the activity good for myself because it helped me
realize the things I need to realize and the things that helped me become who I
am today.
2. How
do you feel about talking to yourself? Your friends? Teachers? Family?
- I felt confident when talking to myself because I know who I am.
With my friends, I am happy because they also know who I am, and they
know what I am going to tell them. With my teacher/s, I felt quite nervous
because I need to be confident enough to show them that I’m doing my best at
school. And last but not the least is my family. For them, I think I felt the
way that they are always judging me and now I can prove myself to them.
3. What have you discovered about
yourself during your self-talk?
- I discovered that I could do the things that I
couldn't do last time. Also found out that the confidence of a person can be
used as a weapon to fight your problems in life.
4. How is the activity helping you
enhance your self-worth?
- This activity helped me to realize that I am worthy of someone
to be in their life. Also, this helped me boost my self-esteem that can help me
achieve more in life.

your parent in the mirror), please tell them that “You should be proud of
me because I’m almost halfway done in my studies. I’ll make sure that I
will be successful in the future and will be able to sustain our family’s needs
soon.”

· It feels great to let out my feelings by saying things that I
can’t personally tell the people included in this activity.

· I realized that I have been doing well these days and that I am

this world, and I should work hard to accomplish it.
