REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES-Significance of modern technology in education

 

According to the study of (Zadjali, 2020), modern lives are heavily reliant on technology, and made the users lives indispensable. Most of the daily activities are also strongly tied to technology. The most essential item to buy and use daily is technology, which is used in the production of computers, cars, and mobile phones. Undoubtedly, the user is the one to decide when to make use of technology to further his goals, expand his knowledge, enhance his education, and hone and improve his skills. And one special benefit of technology is through the extensive network, how does technology supply. The internet offers a wealth of learning and training tools at the click of a button, and ongoing education and training are what motivate working people to take part actively in the organizations. ⁸ 

The most recent understandings of how precisely today's students like to use technology ask: "If people use technology, does it have an impact on their learning?" stated that with the latest technology, equipment, and resources, students are more engaged in studying. The students consider it to be a lot more engaging, and with the use of technology, intriguing regions can be discovered. The process of learning is made incredibly simple, convenient, and effective. The study means that people’s minds now tend to work more quickly with the aid of modern technology in any aspect of life; here discuss technology in education.  The dependence on such an entity is innovation that only makes life more convenient and seamless. Technology has transformed education, moving from aggressive and interactive to passive and reactive. Corporate and academic environments both require educational settings. In the former, assistance is provided by education or training. Consequently, education aims to foster curiosity in the students' thoughts. In either scenario, technological utilization can aid students in better understanding and retaining knowledge (Raja, 2018). ⁹ 

Technology has advanced in recent years, and more people are becoming interested in digital media. Teachers were using technology to interact with the students. When knowledge and ideas are presented utilizing technology, students become more involved in the study. Technology has aided teachers so greatly, and become fundamental to students' education (Lim, 2021). ¹⁰ 

There were few tools available to teachers in the pre-technological age to improve the teachers’ instruction. The blackboard and the chalk were primarily used to facilitate and enhance the students' learning. Teachers delivered lectures while students sat silently in the back of the room, being the main source of information. But as technology advanced, classrooms shifted from being teacher-centered to being student-centered which resulted from a desire to concentrate more on the kids. In a classroom that is student-centered, the burden of learning is placed on the students with the goal of helping them break out of the students’ shells and learn how to be independent. By involving students and providing a sense of independence, teachers aim to make the learning experience enjoyable, interactive, and informative, and with many technology resources at their disposal. Through online courses and other resources, technology has revolutionized and not just by teachers presenting lectures and how students learn, but also how millions of students can access education in general (Bajraktari, 2020). ¹¹
