The problem and Its Setting

 

Introduction 

            The word "technology" comes from the Greek word "Technologia," which is a combination of two other Greek words: "techne" meaning "skill" or "art," and "logia" meaning "study" or "discourse”. ¹ Modern technology is the advancement of old technology with new additions and modifications, modern technology has influenced every aspect of human life to the point where modern technology become a critical factor for people. Modern technology products are goods, services, and infrastructure that were developed and constructed using engineering and scientific principles. Modern technology comprises computerized, networked, and software-based information technology.  The most recent examples of modern technology are the 5G network, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. The goal of modern technology is efficiency and speed. Modern technology is about ensuring face-to-face communication, connecting you to your healthcare provider, and empowering you by providing you with more access and control over the type of care and service you receive (Aging.com, 2023). ² 

Education technology can improve teachers and students' engagement with course   materials, making learning more interactive and collaborative. Online platforms can help teachers organize and optimize student courses while also providing better study materials. Collaboration, communication, organization, efficiency, virtual experiences, and additional support are all benefits of educational technology (scientificworldinfo, 2019) ³. The new technological adventure in the sphere of education has made the process of learning and knowledge sharing more engaging. The most significant consequence of modern technology on schooling is the shift in our worldview. Because of advances in technology, students are now experimenting     with new and creative concepts such as learning techniques.
Modern technology is beneficial to overall development of the students as the level of thinking for new things are altered (Chaudhary, 2022). ⁴ 

Technology provides students with easy access to information, accelerated learning, and enjoyable opportunities to put what the students learned into practice. Technology allows students to explore new subjects and deepen the understanding for difficult concepts, which is incredibly beneficial in STEM. Technology enables continuous access to educational resources.  (soeonline.american.edu, 2020). ⁵ 

In the process of personalizing learning, technology gives control over the students’ own learning processes and makes learning relevant to digital lives, as well as getting them ready for the future. Students are motivated to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, collaborators, and creators thanks to technology and access to resources outside of the classroom.  

Academic performance describes the success of a student’s studies as evidenced by the grades, test results, and other types of assessment. Academic performance is frequently regarded as a crucial measure of a student's academic progress and can have a big influence on the future options, such admittance to college or employment prospects of the student. A student's IQ, motivation, family history, and availability to resources like high-quality instruction and support services are all variables that can influence how well a student can succeed academically. Academic success is also influenced by students' time management, focus, and study habits. Academic performance is the measurement of student achievement across various academic subjects. Academic performance includes the students’ cerebral, personality, motivation, skills, interests, study habits, self-esteem, and connection to the teachers. Teachers and education officials typically measure achievement using classroom performance, graduation rates, and results from standardized tests. In addition, the academic performance of students reflects the ability to demonstrate the knowledge the students have learnt in tests, quizzes, presentations and final examinations.  Academic performance is also important for educators and schools since academic performance is used to assess the efficacy of teaching techniques and educational programs. Academic performances can also be used to assess school and district performance and to highlight areas where improvements are needed (Gilbert, 2019). ⁶ Teachers and educators can also benefit from the students' academic performance by providing students with necessary support to overcome obstacle and achieve academic success. The teachers and educators can include extra help, offering tutoring or creating a classroom environment to promote learning engagement and students' participation. 

Modern technology is thought to be important in education because modern technology encourages students to learn independently. Students already can learn without the assistance of parents or teachers. Students would benefit greatly from easy access and being provided with computer skills and knowledge. Technologies enable access to information, as well as promoting an exciting way to educate students. The internet contains an asset of images, videos, graphics, and text, which more students will be motivated to learn using modern technology. This is necessary in order to heighten students' interest in studying. Education technology has a significant impact on students' educational skills and knowledge. (Apolinario, et al. 2016). ⁷
